Project Description

Client:   Residential Client
Location:   Plaza Midwood, Charlotte NC
Surface Area: Exterior Deck

deck repair:

As a result of removing the hot tub, a large hole was left in the exterior surface of the deck. For that reason, the area was rebuilt and we were able to repair the section of the deck from where the hot tub was removed for a local residential client in the Plaza Midwood area of Charlotte, NC.

Any plain backyard can be transformed to a relaxing area for entertaining and grilling by adding a deck. A deck can also be used to expand your living area. Above all, a deck is perfect for areas without level ground because it can be built almost anywhere.

When planning a deck project:
  • Do you have a budget? A budget helps when deciding on material selection and size. When choosing the right building materials, ask about yearly maintenance and longevity. Above all, general upkeep can help reduce the cost of future deck repair.
  • What will be the primary function? Adding a hot tub may increase the cost of your deck due to plumbing and electrical needs. An additional support system will also be needed to handle the weight. Furthermore, a privacy feature like a fence or landscaping may be needed. Finally, you may want to consider built-in seating options. Depending on the location of the hot tub, an access hatch may be needed for any future plumbing, electrical, or deck repair.
  • Where is the ideal location? A slope in the yard and drainage issues may require additional building materials that could potentially increase the cost. Know your surroundings when considering placement and height. The view from your deck should be pleasant and relaxing, not looking at the local problem areas of your neighborhood. For that reason, you may want to consider building a privacy fence.
